2. Connect the optical output of the PSX-100 into the optical input of the ADAT and vice versa.

3. Set PSX-100 DIP #10 to ON (WC connector outputs 44.1/48 kHz always).

4. Power on the BRC/ADAT(s) and the PSX-100.

5. Make sure the PSX-100 is in Confidence Monitor mode (A/D OUT under D/A INPUT not lit).

6. Select CRYSTAL under A/D SYNC (or alternatively VIDEO or WC if syncing to external video or word clock

respectively)*.

7. Set the BRC to DIGITAL IN by pressing the DIGITAL I/O button (make sure that the digital I/O format is

ADAT by pressing EDIT>DIGITAL I/O).

8. Set the BRC to clock to the 48K input by pressing EDIT>EXT SYNC and choosing ‘48 kHz Input’. Then press

EDIT to escape EDIT mode and press EXT SYNC to put the BRC in EXT SYNC mode.

9. Make sure that the PSX-100’s sample rate (under A/D SYNC) is set to the correct rate.

10. Select the desired bit rate under OUTPUT RES. (there are some instances where using UV22 may not be

desirable – see UV22 Caveats)

11. Select ADAT under D/A INPUT.

12. Select the desired pair of tracks to monitor under MDM IN.

13. Record-arm the ADAT tracks.

14. Check for levels on the ADAT.

15. Check for level at the analog outputs of the PSX-100.

• Record 24-bit, 44.1/48 kHz bit-split to an ADAT:

1. Set everything as above.

2. Press the ABS button.

3. Record arm tracks 1-4 or 5-8 on the ADAT for stereo L/R recording.

• Record 24-bit, 88.2/96 kHz bit-split to an ADAT:

1. Set everything as above (noting that UV22 is not available in FAST mode!).

2. Press and hold the x2Fs button until the LED illuminates.

3. DO NOT press the ABS button, as bit-splitting is the default mode for MDM recording at high sample rates.

4. Record arm tracks all tracks on the ADAT (1-8) for stereo L/R recording.

*There are very specific reasons to sync to external video or word clock and users who need to do this usu-

ally know exactly how and why. If you don’t know why you would need to sync to external video or word clock,

then, chances are, you don’t need to do it.
