Wiring Connections :

DCC power input connec tions fr om the booster . It can be branched out to allo w m ultiple c onnections to

other breaker s or r eversers. T he Po wer Lin k m akes it easier to connec t to another br eaker or revers er. See

the diagram on previo us page.

conn ecte d with powe r on sets the break er to enter the program ming m ode. See special ins tructions for

Digitrax, Pg- 5.

J4-1 and J4-2 are the inputs f or the photocell detector used f or the stopping function. Note: Be sure there is

sufficient light above the cell to trigger the circuit. The photocell sensitivit y is calibrated each time it is arm ed.

J4-3 (+) and J4-4 (-) are open if the block is not occupied and are c onnected together ( up to 5 mA) if the

block is o ccupied. This is an opto- isolated output s witch and prov ides no power.

J4-5 ( +) and J4- 6 ( -) are connected together (up to 5 mA) when the br eak er has detected a short cir cuit

and open with no shor t. This is an opto-isolated output switch and provides no power.

J5-1 (+) and J5-2 (

–

) are for a remote status LED. The LED is connected directly to the term inals. No resistor

is required. Off m eans norm al

Solid on means a s hort circuit.

J5-3 and J5-4 are f or network power s tatus reporting.

Sets the c urrent trip level. When CV49=00 (d efault) the trip cur rent is 3.81 am peres if no jum pers ar e

installed. If J 6-2 is connec ted t o J 6- 1 and J6 -4 to J6 -3 is open, then the c urrent trip is 1.27 am peres. If J6-4

is connec ted to J 6-3 and J 6-2 to J6-1 is open, then the current trip is 6.35 amperes. If J6-4 is connected to J6-3

and J6-2 is connec t e d to J6-1 , then the curr en t trip is 8.8 9 amper es .

J7-1 and J7-2 are the auto/manual reset input. If the c onnections are open, the breaker will automaticall y

tr y to r eset e ver y t wo seconds. If the terminals are connected together (like a SPST toggle s witch or a N/C

push button switch), then the breaker will remain off after a short until the connection from J7-1 to J 7-2 is

momentarily opened.

J7-4 to J7-3 is t he Weak System Boost en able jum per. W hen the jum per is instal led, th e break er will us e a

turn on algorithm that is d esigned to ass ist weak syst em boosters in st arting high inr ush c urrent lo ads. It

wi ll a ls o he l p l o w p o wer bo ost e rs s uc h as the Dig it r ax Zep hyr and the NCE Po wer C ab start diff icult loads .

W hen CV53 is zero, th e jum per will e nable/d isable this f unction. If CV53 is a non zero value, then the W eak

System Boos t funct ion is ena bled reg ardl ess of the pres enc e or absence of a j um per. On Digitrax syst em s,

setting O PSW #18 to “C LOSED” will extend the s hort circuit shutdown to 0.5 seconds. This will help prevent

the booster from s hutting down during a short circuit.

J10-1 (+) and J10-2 (-) are for a r em ote indicator showing DCC power is available to the breaker.

J11-1 (+) and J1 1-2 (-) are for a remote indicator showing that the track outputs are on (or off).
